We Are Rochester Natives!
Our Story
We didn’t set out to be flower farmers. In fact, the story of how we came to our farm starts with a fire. We had a fire on Friday the 13th of December, 2019, and were displaced from our home. It was shortly after this that we bought the little farm we call home today.
Our Name
We were sitting on our deck brainstorming, trying to think of a name that would encapsulate both of us, Joel (he/him) and Deb (she/her), and the masculine and feminine within us both. Something a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll. Think Led Zeppelin, and Steel Magnolias.
Our Vision
- Bring joy to our community and warmly welcome everyone—of all colors, genders, religions, and cultures.
- Create a space to reconnect with nature through creativity, observation, and mindfulness.
- Specialize in peonies, spring blooms, and native plants.
When You Support Us, You Support Native Flora and Fauna.
Dedicated Growing Space for Natives
Native flowers and sustainable regenerative practices are at the heart of everything we do. We have a passion for the native flora and fauna of Minnesota, and have dedicated growing space for native flowers, grasses, trees, and shrubs to support pollinators year-round with pollen, nectar, and habitat for breeding, as well as habitat and food for songbirds year-round, etc.
Do You Sell Native Flowers?
We grow a variety of native species from early spring ephemerals to showy mid-summer blooms to late autumn sources of nectar for pollinators.
Why Should I Grow or Buy Native Flowers?
We are gathering together a database of native flowers and foliage in Minnesota that make good cut flowers for bouquets and event work. Growers and florists alike are not trained in how to work with native flowers, so the more data we can collect to educate the community about ideal harvest stage, post-harvest handling, vase life, etc. and make working with natives more predictable, the more demand will increase.

Joel drove his Grandparents' van in high school at JM. He named her Helen after his Grandma. She now lives on our flower farm!
